ADA Ramp & Sidewalk = More Accessibility & Safety at MORE

MORE's mission is to provide refugees and immigrants with the education and support they seek in order to be fully engaged members of our community. We have developed both understanding and expertise in addressing the needs of people that are new to this country. Last year, we provided over 1,200 of our newest neighbors with almost 42,000 hours of service in the areas of English Learning Classes, Mental Health Services and Social Services. An average of 35 hours of service was provided per program participant.

The inside of MORE's current location, a house in St. Paul's North End neighborhood has been described as warm and welcoming, like walking into someone's home. Unfortunately, we have some accessibility and mobility challenges on the outside of the building that can challenge some visitors. In order to have more safety and accessibility at MORE, we would like to install an ADA ramp to the front door, allowing visitors access to MORE's main level, as well as a sidewalk on the side of the house that will allow safer access to our main door from the front of the building.

  • The purpose of this Campaign is to raise $11,000 to match the City of St. Paul STAR Grant that we've been awarded for this construction project.
  • One foot of construction costs approximately $50 - 230 total feet of Ramp and Sidewalk is required for this project
  • You can donate according to the number of feet of Ramp and/or Sidewalk you'd like to provide! (Please see the donation page for more details.)

Amy Brendmoen, St. Paul City Council says:
“MORE’s programming is absolutely vital to the success, health and happiness of our neighbors who have recently arrived in the United States. We know that many neighbors rely on being able to safely walk to and from MORE and elsewhere which is why this sidewalk is so incredibly important. I want to thank MORE, wholeheartedly, for their important work in the community and for taking on the challenge of raising needed funds for this sidewalk to be installed.”
